Kamenets-Podolsk: Mass Murder of the Jews

(Wednesday, August 27, 1941) — The Kamianets-Podilskyi Massacre, the first large-scale mass murder towards the Final Solution of European Jews during World War II, began today in western Ukraine (then part of the Soviet Union), now occupied by German forces.  23,600 Jews will be killed over two days.
