(Tuesday, December 19, 1961) — Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr., former U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom, and the father of U.S. President John F. Kennedy and U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, suffered a massive stroke today after playing golf in Palm Beach, Florida. He never recovered his ability to speak, but remained mentally intact.

Written, directed and produced by Stanley Kubrick, the film features disturbing, violent images, facilitating its social commentary on psychiatry, youth gangs, and other social, political, and economic subjects in a dystopian, future Britain.
