Americans of Japanese heritage ordered into internment camps 70 years ago today (1942)

(Thursday, February 19, 1942, during World War II) — President Franklin D. Roosevelt today signed United States Executive Order 9066, authorizing the Secretary of War to prescribe certain areas as military zones.
