(Monday, July 13, 1992) — Former U.S. Rep. Barbara Jordan of Texas delivered the final keynote address of the first night of the 1992 Democratic National Convention. Jordan spoke on “Change: From What, to What?” and advocated an agenda of change for the Democratic Party in policies governing education, civil rights, health care, the environment and other political issues.

The Franks (Otto, Edith, Margot and Anne) had gone into hiding on July 6 in rooms above and behind the premises of her father’s business on the Prinsengracht, a street along one of Amsterdam’s canals, where some of his most trusted employees would help the two Jewish families escape Nazi persecution.
