‘Groundhog Day’ released in U.S. 20 years ago today (1993)

(Friday, February 12, 1993)Groundhog Day, a comedy film about an arrogant and egocentric Pittsburgh TV weatherman who, during a hated assignment covering the annual Groundhog Day event in Punxsutawney, finds himself in a time loop, repeating the same day again and again, was released today in the U.S.

Directed by Harold Ramis, the film starred Bill Murray, Andie MacDowell and Chris Elliott.
