‘Duck Soup’ released in U.S. theaters 80 years ago today (1933)

(Friday, November 17, 1933)Duck Soup, a Marx Brothers anarchic comedy film about the mythical country of Freedonia which is broke and on the verge of revolution, was released today in U.S. theaters.

Directed by Leo McCarey, the film starred Groucho Marx, Harpo Marx, Chico Marx, Zeppo Marx, Margaret Dumont, Louis Calhern, Raquel Torres and Edgar Kennedy.
