(Tuesday, August 11, 1964)A Hard Day’s Night, a comedy film about the hectic lives of the English rock group The Beatles, opened in the U.S. today, including the Astor, the Trans-Lux East and other theaters in the New York City area.

Directed by Richard Lester, the film starred John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Wilfrid Brambell, Norman Rossington, John Junkin, Victor Spinetti and Maggie d’Abo.
