(Tuesday, August 18, 1964, evening PDT) — The Beatles held their first full press conference of their 25-date first North American tour tonight at the San Francisco Hilton, a few hours after checking in following a long day’s flight from London via Winnipeg and Los Angeles.

After the press conference, The Beatles were interviewed by Larry Kane of Miami’s WFUN, one of three American reports chosen to cover the entire American tour.
