(Friday, November 9, 1984)A Nightmare on Elm Street, a supernatural slasher horror film about a group of teenagers who are terrorized by “Freddy Krueger,” an evil being from another world who gets to his victims by entering their dreams and killing them, opened nationwide today in U.S. theaters.

Directed by Wes Craven, the film starred John Saxon, Ronee Blakley, Heather Langenkamp, Amanda Wyss, Nick Corri, Johnny Depp and Robert Englund.
