(Sunday, November 24, 1974) — Ex-Beatle John Lennon joined Elton John in rehearsals today at the Record Plant studios in New York, for Elton’s Nov. 28, 1974, Thanksgiving concert at Madison Square Garden. Lennon had agreed to Elton’s suggestion that if “Whatever Gets You Thru The Night” made it to number one in the charts (which it did on Nov. 16, 1974), they would perform together.
