(Saturday, July 2, 2005) — Live 8 took place today in ten different cities worldwide to draw attention to poverty in Africa.

Among the highlights: U2 and Paul McCartney opened the London concert, playing “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” and the reunion of Pink Floyd in London.
