(Friday, September 2, 2005, 8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT) — During A Concert for Hurricane Relief, a live TV benefit concert to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, rapper Kanye West went off-script to sharply criticize U.S. President George W. Bush, saying he “doesn’t care about black people.”

West’s microphone was silenced and the camera quickly cut away to the next segment.
