(Sunday, September 28, 1975) — 40,000 people got to see Jefferson Starship and Jerry Garcia and Friends perform for free today at Golden Gate Park’s Lindley Meadows in San Francisco; “Jerry Garcia and Friends” ended up being the Grateful Dead, who had not performed together in more than a year.
