(Saturday, December 2, 1995)“One Sweet Day” by Mariah Carey featuring Boyz II Men peaked at #1 on today’s Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for 16 weeks (Dec. 2/9/16/23/30, 1995, Jan. 6/13/20/27, Feb. 3/10/17/24, Mar. 2/9/16, 1996), the longest running number one song on the chart. It was Carey’s tenth of 18 number one hits on the chart (1990-2008) and Boyz II Men’s fourth of five number one hits on the chart (1992-1997).
