(Tuesday, June 21, 1966, evening PDT) — Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, a black comedy-drama film about an academic couple who reveals their deepest secret to a pair of newcomers during an all-night booze fest, premiered tonight at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood.

Directed by Mike Nichols, the film starred Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, George Segal and Sandy Dennis.
