(Saturday, June 27, 1936, 12:42 a.m. EDT) — President Franklin D. Roosevelt of New York was nominated for a second term by acclamation this morning at the 1936 Republican National Convention meeting at Convention Hall in Philadelphia.

Later in the day, at 2:20 p.m. EDT, the delegates would also nominate Vice President John N. Garner of Texas for a second term by acclamation.

Roosevelt and Garner would oppose the Republican ticket of Alf Landon and Frank Knox in the United States presidential election, 1936.
