(Monday, August 29, 1966) — The Doors (Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore) began recording their first album for Elektra Records today at Sunset Sound Recorders in Hollywood, recording four takes of “Moonlight Drive” and two takes of “Indian Summer,” both of which would be re-recorded and released on future albums.
