(Sunday, October 28, 1956, 8:00-9:00 p.m. EST) — Elvis Presley performed “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Love Me Tender,” “Love Me” and “Hound Dog” tonight’s live edition of the CBS-TV variety show The Ed Sullivan Show from CBS Studio No. 50 in New York City.

It was Presley’s first appearance on the show in New York and with Sullivan appearing as the host (Presley debuted on the show Sept. 9, 1956, from Hollywood with Charles Laughton substituting as host).
