(Tuesday, January 2, 2007) — The state funeral for former President Gerald Ford (1974-1977) began today with an elaborate service at Washington National Cathedral, then moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Ford, died Dec. 26, 2006, at the age of 93 years and 165 days, making him the longest-living United States President in history, surpassing Ronald Reagan by 45 days.
