(Tuesday, March 21, 1967) — Charles Manson, who had spent more than half of his 32 years in prisons and other institutions, was paroled today from McNeil Island Corrections Center near Steilacoom, Washington, after serving seven years for transporting women across state lines for the purpose of prostitution and forging checks.
