(Wednesday, April 30, 1947) — U.S. President Harry S. Truman signed a resolution today changing the name of Boulder Dam, a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona, to Hoover Dam, after former President Herbert Hoover.
