(Tuesday, May 12, 1987) — Woody Allen made one of his rare forays outside of Manhattan today to testify before a Congressional panel on what he called the “sinful” practice of coloring classic old black-and-white movies such as Casablanca and It’s a Wonderful Life, and new black-and-white ones like his own Manhattan and Broadway Danny Rose (click here to watch video of the hearing).
