(Wednesday, December 20, 1967, evening EST) — A recent college graduate has an affair with his neighbor’s wife, then falls for their daughter in The Graduate, an American romantic comedy-drama film that premiered tonight at the Coronet theater in New York City.

Directed by Mike Nichols, the film starred Anne Bancroft, Dustin Hoffman and Katharine Ross.
