(Saturday, February 11, 1978) — Former Beatle Ringo Starr began shooting Ringo, a television special loosely based on Mark Twain’s The Prince and the Pauper, today in Los Angeles for broadcast on NBC on Apr. 26, 1978.

A bulk of the special, featuring both a fictionalized version of Starr and his fictional half-brother “Ognir Rrats,” will be shot on ten of twelve days through Feb. 22, 1978.

It also featured former Beatle George Harrison, Art Carney, Angie Dickinson, Mike Douglas, Carrie Fisher, Vincent Price and John Ritter.
