(Friday, September 20, 1968, 9:00-11:00 p.m. EDT)Hawaii Five-O, an American police procedural drama series about a special state police task force headed up by Detective Captain Steve McGarrett, debuted tonight on CBS-TV as a two-hour pilot.

The program, which debuted as a weekly one-hour series on Thursday, Sept. 26, 1968, at 8:00 p.m., starred Jack Lord, James MacArthur, Kam Fong, Gilbert Lani Kauhi (aka Zulu) and Richard Denning.

Created by Leonard Freeman, Hawaii Five-O was shot on location in Honolulu, Hawaii, and throughout the island of Oahu and other Hawaiian islands with occasional filming in locales such as Los Angeles, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
