(Wednesday, February 22, 1989, 8:00-11:00 p.m. EST) — Bobby McFerrin’s blithe “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” took two of the top four awards, for Song and Record of the Year, at the 31st Annual Grammy Awards ceremony tonight at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Album of the Year went to George Michael for Faith and Tracy Chapman was named Best New Artist.
