(Sunday, March 2, 1969, approximately 3:05 p.m. BST) — John Lennon of The Beatles and his girlfriend, avant-garde artist Yoko Ono, performed “Cambridge 1969,” a 26-minute free-form melange of feedback and screaming, today at Cambridge University’s Lady Mitchell Hall.

It was the first concert performance any of The Beatles had given away from the group.

The piece was recorded in stereo and was released later in the year as one side of Unfinished Music No 2: Life With The Lions.
