(Thursday, December 14, 1961)Judgment at Nuremberg, a drama film dealing with the Holocaust and the post-World War II Nuremberg Trials, premiered today in West Berlin.

Directed by Stanley Kramer, the film stars Spencer Tracy, Burt Lancaster, Richard Widmark, Maximilian Schell, Werner Klemperer, Marlene Dietrich, Judy Garland, William Shatner and Montgomery Clift (click here to watch the complete film).

James Bond flick ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ opens in West Germany 40 years ago today (1971)

(Tuesday, December 14, 1971)Diamonds Are Forever, the sixth and final Eon Productions film to star Sean Connery as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond, opened today in West Germany, three days before it opened in the U.S.

The story has Bond impersonating a diamond smuggler to infiltrate a smuggling ring, and soon uncovering a plot by his old nemesis Blofeld to use the diamonds and build a giant laser.
