Huge blackout hits northeastern U.S., part of Canada 10 years ago this hour (2003)

(Thursday, August 14, 2003, just before 4:10 p.m. EDT) — The Northeast blackout of 2003 cut power today to an estimated 10 million people in Ontario, Canada, and 45 million people in eight U.S. states. At the time, it was the second most widespread blackout in history, after the 1999 Southern Brazil blackout.

Directed by Kim Ki-duk, the film starred Oh Yeong-su, Kim Young-min, Seo Jae-kyung, Kim Jong-ho and Ha Yeo-jin.
