It starred Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, Jorge Garcia, Josh Holloway, Terry O’Quinn and Naveen Andrews.

(Tuesday, September 22, 1964)Fiddler on the Roof, a musical about a father of five daughters and his attempts to maintain his family and Jewish religious traditions while outside influences encroach upon their lives, opened today at the Imperial Theatre on Broadway, beginning a run of 3,242 performances.

Directed and choreographed by Jerome Robbins, the production starred Zero Mostel.
