(Monday, November 8, 1965, 12:45 p.m. EST) — Newspaper columnist Dorothy Kilgallen, 52, was found dead this afternoon on the third floor of her five-story Manhattan brownstone, less than 14 hours after appearing as a regular panelist on the CBS game show What’s My Line?

Kilgallen had succumbed to a fatal combination of alcohol and barbiturates, possibly concurrent with a heart attack.
