California denies parole for Charles Manson 20 years ago today (1992)

(Tuesday, April 21, 1992) — Charles Manson, mastermind of the Tate-LaBianca murders of 1969, one of the most infamous mass murders in the United States, was denied parole for the eighth time today.

Manson, 57, argued that he had been in prison longer than the law allows because he wasn’t present at the killings (click here to watch parts 1-9 of today’s hearing).
