The film, written by and starring Woody Allen, based on his 1969 Broadway play of the same name, was directed by Herbert Ross, instead of Allen, who usually directs his own written work. It also stars Diane Keaton, Tony Roberts, Jerry Lacy, and Susan Anspach.
