The medley was inspired by the success of the “Stars On 45 Medley,” a recording that included numerous Beatles songs sung by a John Lennon sound-alike that went to #1 on the chart in 1981.

The single was released in conjunction with Reel Music, a compilation album featuring a selection of songs by The Beatles that were featured in their films, which also happened to peak on today’s Billboard 200 top albums chart at #19.
