Lennon, Ono perform ‘One to One’ benefit concert 40 years ago this hour (1972)

(Wednesday, August 30, 1972, 2:00 p.m. EDT) — Ex-Beatle John Lennon and wife Yoko Ono with The Plastic Ono Elephant’s Memory band performed this afternoon at Madison Square Garden in New York City in first of two “One to One” concerts to benefit the Willowbrook School for Children, a home for retarded children.
