(Tuesday, March 5, 1963, 2:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. GMT) — Fresh off the success of their first UK #1 single “Please Please Me,” the rock band from Liverpool, England, The Beatles, recorded their third single, “From Me To You,” today at EMI Studio 2 in London for release on Apr. 11, 1963.

The single’s B-side, “Thank You, Girl,” was also tracked today but would not be completed until Mar. 13, 1963.

The band also attempted to record “One After 909,” but were unhappy with the results and did not release it at the time.
