(Thursday, May 16, 1963, 5:00-5:30 p.m. British Summer Time) — The Beatles made their second appearance on national BBC television today, performing live on the children’s show Pops And Lenny at Television Theatre in London.

The group arrived at 1:30 p.m. BST for a rehearsal, and the show was broadcast live in front of an audience from 5:00-5:30 p.m.

The Beatles performed “From Me To You” and a short version of “Please Please Me.”

At the end of the show they joined host Terry Hall and his glove puppet foil Lenny the Lion, plus regular cast members The Raindrops, Patsy Ann Noble, and musicians The Bert Hayes Octet, for a one-minute rendition of the 1929 standard “After You’ve Gone.”

This was the group’s only appearance on Pops And Lenny.
