(Wednesday, August 14, 1963) — The Beatles drove from Liverpool to Granada TV Centre in Manchester today to record two performances for the Scene At 6.30 show, a current affairs magazine show broadcast to England’s northern ITV region.

The recording took place in Studio Four. The Beatles wore black polo necks and jeans – a departure from their normally suited attire.

The band was recorded lip-syncing to two songs: “Twist And Shout,” broadcast this evening, while the second, “She Loves You,” was shown the following Monday (a copy of which doesn’t seem to have survived).

After the filming was complete, The Beatles drove back to Llandudno, where they were in the middle of a six-night residency at the Odeon Cinema.
