(Tuesday September 3, 1963, 5:00-7:30 p.m. British Summer Time) — The Beatles began recording the second of the final three episodes of the BBC Light Programme Pop Go The Beatles today at Studio 2, Aeolian Hall in London.

For episode 14, the rock music group from Liverpool, England, recorded “Chains,” “You Really Got A Hold On Me,” “Misery,” “Lucille,” “From Me To You” and “Boys” for broadcast on Sept. 17, 1963, at 5:00 p.m. BST (“A Taste of Honey” was also recorded during this session, but was inserted into episode 13, which aired Sept. 10).
