(Thursday, October 23, 1963, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. British Summer Time) — The Beatles added a final tambourine overdub by Ringo Starr to “I Wanna Be Your Man” (as take 16 onto take 15) today at EMI Studio 2 in London, completing recording sessions for their second studio album With The Beatles before heading off for a tour of Sweden, their first on foreign soil.

Producer George Martin commenced mono and stereo mixing of the album today and continuing six days later.

Final preparations were made on Oct. 30, with the album officially completed on Nov. 4, 1963.

With the Beatles would be released in the United Kingdom on Nov. 22, 1963, on Parlophone, eight months after the band’s debut Please Please Me.
