(Wednesday, October 24, 1973) — Ex-Beatle John Lennon, now in Los Angeles one month into his 17-month separation from wife Yoko Ono, shot a TV commercial today for his forthcoming album Mind Games with rock star Elton John present.

Also today, Lennon sued the U.S. Government, demanding that it admit or deny whether he or his lawyer, Leon Wildes, had been the subjects of illegal wiretaps or surveillance. The government has been trying to deport Lennon since March 1972.
