(Tuesday, February 11, 1964, 5:05 p.m. EST) — The Beatles were interviewed by Carroll James for WWDC-AM in Washington, D.C., at Washington Coliseum. WWDC had supposedly been the first U.S. station to air “I Want to Hold Your Hand” when a young listener, Marsha Albert, wrote in to request the song.
