(Saturday, March 14, 1964, 12:22 p.m. CST) — Jack Ruby was found guilty today of murdering Lee Harvey Oswald, the accused assassin of U.S. President John F. Kennedy, and recommended that his punishment be execution in the electric chair.

Ruby’s conviction would be reversed on appeal, and he would die of cancer, in 1967, before a new trial could be held.
