(Saturday, August 22, 1964)Something New by The Beatles peaked at #2 on today’s Billboard 200 albums chart. The band’s fifth top 2 album, Something New was prevented from going to #1 by the group’s A Hard Day’s Night album, which spent 14 consecutive weeks at #1 beginning July 25, 1964.

The album includes eight songs from the original British release of A Hard Day’s Night, as well as the remaining tracks “Slow Down” and “Matchbox” from the Long Tall Sally EP and the German-language version of “I Want to Hold Your Hand.”
