Video: '7/27/74: President Nixon Impeachment'

(Saturday, July 27, 1974, 7:05 p.m. EDT; during the Watergate scandal) — The House Judiciary Committee voted 27-11 tonight to adopt the first of three articles of impeachment against President Richard Nixon, charging he had personally engaged in a course of conduct designed to obstruct justice in the Watergate case.

In the days that followed, the Committee also adopted articles accusing Nixon of abuse of power and contempt of Congress.
