(Wednesday, September 6, 1944, around 2:00 a.m. local time; part of The Holocaust during World War II) — 15-year-old diarist Anne Frank was among 1,019 Jews who were ordered early this morning to disembark their cattle cars, which had arrived hours earlier at Auschwitz II-Birkenau concentration/extermination camp in German-occupied Poland on the last transport from Westerbork.

Men and women were separated. The women selected from this transport, including Anne, Edith, and Margot, were marked with numbers between A-25060 and A-25271. Records indicating their exact numbers have not been preserved.
