The Beatles enjoy a day off at a ranch in Alton, Missouri 50 years ago today (Sep 19 1964)

(Saturday, September 19, 1964) — Following their concert in Dallas, Texas, The Beatles were flown today to a ranch owned by Reed Pigman (who also owned the charter service that flew the group around on their first North American tour) in Alton, Missouri, for a rest. The Beatles used the ranch as a hideaway prior to a trip to New York for the final concert of the tour.
