(Tuesday, September 29, 1964, 7:00-10:45 p.m. BST) — Scarcely a week after returning home from a month-long tour of North America, The Beatles resumed production on their fourth album Beatles For Sale tonight, recording “I Don’t Want to Spoil the Party” at EMI Studio 2 in London.

The band also recorded early versions of “Every Little Thing” and “What You’re Doing” on this day.
