(Monday, November 12, 1984, about 11:00 a.m. PST) — A troubled student dressed in combat gear opened fire indiscriminately at the University of Oregon’s football stadium today, killing former Olympic sprinter Christopher Brathwaite, 36, and wounding a college wrestler, and then apparently committed suicide, officials said.
