(Friday, November 12, 1971) — Former Beatle John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, were captured on a black and white “open-reel” Sony video recording machine today at their newly occupied apartment in Greenwich Village in New York City rehearsing a brand new song he had written, titled “The Luck of the Irish.”

Lennon had been approached by a local filmmaker who was putting together a film project reportedly called The Irish Tapes, inspiring him to write a new song to perform.
